John is the Owner and Principal of John Henry Architects, an award winning architectural design practice striving to design engaging environments while working within each customized budget. With 32 years in the industry, John followed his innate entrepreneurial drive to launch his own firm 7 years ago, totaling an impressive 32 years in architectural design.
Graduating with a Fellowship Diploma in Architecture from RMIT University, John began broadening his spectrum of talents with a variety of practices before starting his 31 year reign at Woodland International. Leading and supporting a variety of health and elder care development projects, John is highly regarded for his efforts on the redevelopment of Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, a $600 million dollar project.
Pursuing a desire to work more personally with his clients, John opened John Henry Architects allowing him to expand his expertise into commercial, institutional and residential projects. Unveiling a variety of exceptional projects, John has won RAIA Awards for Outstanding Architecture, the Architeam Architecture Award, the National Residential Interior Design Award, the Best of State Residential Interior Design Award and most recently the RAIA Victorian Chapter Colorbond Steel Award.
